Happy Birthday Code Man!!

Cody is TWO!

Cody turned 2 on April 25th. We decided to take him to Chuck E Cheese's for his birthday party, and we are so glad we did! He loved it! This kid absolutely CAN NOT resist the urge to dance whenever he hears music, and at Chuck E Cheese, they have a band of animals that sing and dance, so this was right up Cody's alley!

After a little dancing, we tried to take him over to the rides and games... He was interested in them for about two seconds until he saw the cup of tokens! Another thing Cody can not resist is being able to pour something into something else! So he took the cup of tokens and grabbed himself a table...

He played with those for a while, and would have all night, but we had to take them away so he could see what he was missing out on! That was all it took. He went from one thing to the next as fast as he could! It was so much fun to just watch him!

He rode the merry-go-round with his cousins Jaxson & Wyatt, and his brother Bo, and of course... Uncle David!

But I think the biggest hit of the night was the Skee Ball game! (or skeet ball, or something! I don't really know what it's called...)

Does it count if you just take the ball up and throw it in?
We spent forever playing this game, and finally it was time to open presents...

Of course Cody is not the only one that was having a blast! Here are some of the other party goers gettin' in the groove...

Bo Daniel didn't want to be left out! He had just as much fun as the big kids! We couldn't get him off the rides...

We had a pretty fun birthday and Cody loved every second of it! I love him so much and feel so blessed to have him in my life! He is so much fun and life would be so boring without him! Happy Birthday my little monster!

APPLESAUCE

What a MESS MAKER!
I was trying to get ready for Cody's birthday last night so I gave Cody some applesauce and put him up to the table to distract him. He loves applesauce. He has it all the time!
Just so we are clear, this is not the first time he has had applesauce, and normally, he eats it like a normal person!
Last night however, he decided he wanted to try something new! Instead of a spoon, he used his hands, and instead of putting it in his mouth, he decided to put it ON HIS HEAD!
Of course I wasn't paying attention, but when I looked over at him, there he was, slathering the goo all over his head and rubbing it in!
It caught me off guard so I busted up laughing, and that only encouraged him, so I had to take it away and haul him off to the tub! One thing is for sure... Never a dull moment with this kid!

Late Night Snack Anyone?

A few nights ago after I had put Bo to bed, I was trying to get Cody to sleep but every time he got close to falling asleep he would get up again. I was getting really frustrated with him and I could not figure out why he wouldn't go to bed! It was 11:30 pm! Way past his bedtime! Finally I got mad and I said, "What do you want!?" Well, Cody doesn't talk. He can talk, he just won't talk! But he is the sweetest thing in the whole world! He gave me a kiss, (because he knows he can get anything he wants that way) and then took my finger and led me into the kitchen. He then climbed into his highchair and sat looking at me. I did not think for a moment that he was hungry, but when he gets in his highchair, he wants food! So I made him some peanut butter toast and gave it to him thinking he wouldn't touch it, but to my surprise, he ate every drop! When he was done, I wiped him off and set him on the floor, and I turned to clean up the mess and wipe up the counter and when I went into the family room, there he was sound asleep on the couch! I guess he just wanted a little something to top him off until morning!!

(I had to document this occasion because I can not get Cody to eat, ever! So when he wanted to eat this late at night, it had to go on record!)

So Studious!

I just want to gobble him up!

Everything is Under Control!

I am pleased to announce that my little family is on the mend! I don't want to jinx anything, but we are all a couple of happy campers! Other than a few runny noses, we can walk among the living again, and we are ready for summer!! Things are good!

AFTER SHOCK!

So, you know when there is an earthquake, and people are glad they survived, and then comes the after shock, and sometimes it's worse than the actual earthquake? Well, I got hit with the aftershock! I thought last week was as bad as it could get. I mean, we all took turns with strep, Cody had croup, and Bo was running a fever and they were both puking there guts out. We didn't get any sleep, and just when I thought it was starting to get better....WHAM!!! I get plowed! I was sleeping on Tuesday night and all the sudden I feel all this warm stuff all over me. I wake up to find Cody puking all over me! In my hair, down my neck, and it was all over him. So I get up, and I am trying to get him undressed, and get my clothes off, and strip the sheets off my bed and wipe the puke off of us, meanwhile trying to keep Bo asleep! We got it all under control and all of us got back to sleep, just to be woken up with Bo puking his guts out! That's right, after all the other sickness we have had, it wouldn't be complete without the stomach flu! My boys got it, and being the little darlings that they are, they passed it on to me! Let me tell you how fun it is trying to take care of two sick boys, when you are sick as a dog! It is awful. I quarantined my family. We are under house arrest. No one comes in, and no one goes out until we are over all this sickness! I can only pray that this after shock ends soon!!

Oh, and may I add that while I am dealing with my own personal hell, my washer decided to break and flood my laundry room!! So, I was trying to mop up all the water while taking a few barf breaks! Things are good!!

Rub-a-Dub Dub, two boys in a Tub!

Cody was trying to teach Bo how to pour his cups!

Bo just likes watching Cody. He doesn't really get the tubby thing yet!

I was trying to get the boys to look at me so I could take their picture, Bo cooperated but Cody was like... This is bath time mom! Don't bug me!!

They were having a blast!

They were having so much fun I left them in there until they were all pruned! When they finally got out they looked like a couple California Raisins!

It's a bird, it's a plane... It's CODY!

Cody is my danger boy! He loves climbing and the higher the better. Grandpa Kelly has been adding an apartment on to their house for Chad and Anne, so they have been under construction. All this equipment was a dream come true for Cody! He was dying to get up there with Grandpa!

Cody thought he was being such a good helper!

I love this picture! I don't know who is having more fun, Cody or Grandpa!

Satan Called.... He Wants HELL Back!

Last Friday I thought my little Bo was acting like he wasn't feeling very well, so I thought "here we go!" Well, I slept over at my mom's house Friday night (Cory was gone) and around 1:00 a.m. Bo woke me up. I went to check on him, and he was burning up! So I gave him some Tylenol and hoped that would bring his fever down. It didn't! So I was up with him all night and finally around 5:00 a.m. I went in to wake up my mom. My baby was burning up, and it was scary, so I headed off to the Emergency room. Bo's fever was 102.8! Cody has had fever's before, but with a little Tylenol or Motrin, they usually come right down, so I didn't really know how to deal with this fever. I thought "It's cold outside, and Bo has a fever. I need to keep him wrapped up so he doesn't get chilled." WRONG! I was basically cooking my baby! You are suppose to strip them down to their diaper, and wipe them down with a warm cloth. Good to know for future reference. Well, I got Bo's fever down, and I was keeping an eye on him, and around 2:00 p.m. I noticed Bo had this rash all over his chest and back. So, I went back to the Dr. for the second time that day. Well, Bo had Strep! He was so sick, and you could tell he was not feeling good, but he still kept smiling at me like..."It's okay mom! I know your doing your best!" He is the sweetest little thing in the whole world!!

My mom gave me a break and took her turn with my sick baby!
(Can you tell we had a rough night! Sorry Mom!!)
Later Saturday night, my mom and dad were heading up to Bear Lake to pick up their boat and to check on things at the cabin. Cody was not letting me take care of Bo and we were getting frustrated with each other so my mom and dad offered to take him with them. I have only spent one night away from him since he was born and that was only because I had to stay over night in the hospital after having Bo! I just don't leave my kids, but I jumped at the offer and sent him off with Grandma and Grandpa! I missed him, but it was really nice to be able to just focus on my sick baby. Little did I know that I needed to enjoy the break because things were about to get worse!!!
My mom and dad brought Cody back to me on Sunday, and Bo was feeling a little better but not himself yet. That night around 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. here comes Cody into our bedroom with that horrible barking cough!! He had Croup! I really could have died! I could not believe this was happening! So I put on the humidifier and tried to comfort him until I could get him into the doctor for a steroid treatment. So off to the Dr. again for the 3rd time in 3 days! We got Cody's medicine and by that night he was feeling better. Unfortunately, it was short lived! Pretty soon, he was throwing up, and running a fever... He had strep!! I called the Doctor because I just could not believe that I'd have to go back again! Thankfully my wonderful Doctor just called in a prescription for Cody and we got him started on his way to recovery. It has been a full week of misery for all involved but I really think we are through the worst of it... Knock on Wood!

My sweet little boys... so sick!!
Thanks to everyone that helped me get through this horrible week!

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you!

Bo is now 6 months old, and this is the VERY FIRST TIME Cody has given him any attention! They are actually playing together! I don't know if Cody finally realized that this kid is here to stay or what, but he is showing Bo how to play with his ball popper, and later that day he was eating whoppers, and I guess he thought Bo needed one too so he tried to shove one in his mouth. (I had to stop that one to both the boys dismay!) Since then, Cody has started sharing his toys with Bo, and he talks to him when no one is around. I am loving this new stage! People said it would happen, but to be honest with you, I didn't think this day would ever come!

Bo has discovered "Norman", Grandma Jill's crazy cat!
